1. Geographic Location
District & Taluk: Panjal is located in the Talappilly Taluk of the Thrissur district.
Region: It belongs to the Midland (Idayanad) region of Kerala, characterized by a mix of flat plains and low-lying hills.
It is situated close to the prominent towns of Shoranur and Wadakkanchery.
2. Boundaries
The Panjal Village/Gram Panchayat is bounded by:
North: The Bharathapuzha River (across which lies Shoranur in the Palakkad district).
South: Mullurkara and Vallathol Nagar Panchayats.
East: Painkulam and Thozhupadam areas.
West: Cheruthuruthy (Vallathol Nagar).
3. Topography and Terrain
Landscape: The terrain is a picturesque blend of gentle slopes, small hillocks, residential compounds (parambus), and vast, low-lying paddy fields (ela).
Soil Type: The region predominantly features laterite soil on the higher terrains and fertile alluvial/clayey soil in the lowlands, which is excellent for agriculture.
